End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes

Child Survivor Health Project

MEETING VICTIMS PHYSICAL AND MENTAL NEEDS

ECPAT-USA Child Survivor Health Project supports health services for youth who have been trafficked for sexual exploitation.  We give financial support to youth who are under 18, have been sexually exploited and have health needs for which no other funds are available, including government funding. These services are desperately needed by children and can often help a child get his or her life back on track.

HEALTH SERVICES WE COVER

ECPAT-USA funding covers physical and mental health services, including mental health evaluations, anger management classes, nutrition classes, as well as vision and dental care. In addition, we fund the healthcare of pregnant survivors as well as those victims who may already have children as a result of the exploitation.

Funding also covers tattoo removal in cases where pimps or traffickers have “branded” their young victims. The removal of the tattoo restores a child’s identity, while helping him or her forget that they were once considered “property” by their trafficker.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES WE COVER

ECPAT-USA also funds courses and classes on nutrition, mental health, substance abuse, anger management and parenting and child care.
