Tour Operator Meaningful Trip signs the Tourism Child-Protection Code of Conduct

The Tourism Child-Protection Code of Conduct is an internationally accepted industry-driven corporate responsibility initiative to protect children from trafficking and sexual exploitation in travel and tourism.

SEATTLE, Washington – September 18, 2012 - United States-based tour operator, Meaningful Trip joined the fight against child trafficking by signing the Tourism Child-Protection Code of Conduct (The Code). The Code is a set of six guidelines travel and tourism companies can implement to protect children from sexual exploitation.

After working in community-based and responsible tourism, Joe Staiano founded Meaningful Trip to offer socially responsible travelers a chance to make a difference and support global development issues. Upon learning about the Code, Joe was eager to become a member and support child protection in tourism. He is proud to be one of fewer than a dozen USA tourism- industry signatories of The Code, and he wants to see more leaders in responsible travel and tourism sign the Code as well. Meaningful Trip is the tenth US-based company and second tour operator to become a member.
