Wyden/Cornyn Bill Passes House and Senate But Not Congress

The Wyden/Cornyn Bill has passed the House of Representatives, but with revisions.  Since the Senate passed a different version of the bill earlier this month, it will not be made into a law this year.  It will not carry over to be reconciled next year, and instead we must start anew.  We were very close, and will do our best to get the bill passed next session.

Call Your House Representative Today!

There’s only a few days left to till Congress leaves for the Christmas break, many are calling it a lame duck session but for the victims of child sex trafficking it could be a guardian angel session.  Call your house representative today and let him or her know that before they leave you want the Wyden/Cornyn Bill passed.

Wyden/Cornyn Bill Passes the Senate!!!

The Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking Deterrence and Victims Support Act will create a six-state pilot program to help law enforcement crackdown on pimps and traffickers, create shelters, provide clothing, treatment, counseling, education, job training, and legal aid for underage girls that are forced into sexual slavery as well as money for preventative steps. It must still pass the House, but it’s a great victory for victims everywhere. Click here to read the official press release.
